Beginning January 3, 2027, we're excited to welcome our current fifth graders into Nuvo YTH!
As students grow, so do their friendships, questions, and understanding of the world around them. We believe their faith should have room to grow, too.
We've seen the maturity of our fifth graders and believe this is a great time to invite them into an environment designed to help them build meaningful relationships, experience worship in new ways, and take greater ownership of their faith.

A Letter From Emily & Sarah
Hey Parents!
We're so excited about what's ahead for your fifth grader!
One of the things we love most about family ministry at Nuvo is watching kids grow, not just physically and socially, but spiritually. As students mature, they begin asking deeper questions, building meaningful friendships, and discovering what it looks like to follow Jesus for themselves.
At Nuvo, our heart is to help students develop a faith of their own. As we've watched this group grow, we believe they're ready for this exciting next step into Nuvo YTH!
Our hope is that this transition gives students new opportunities to experience worship, build relationships with leaders and peers, and continue growing in their relationship with Jesus. We're working together to make sure every fifth grader feels welcomed, connected, and confident as they take this step.
Thank you for trusting us to partner with you in your child's faith journey. We can't wait to see what God does in this next season!
The best is ahead!

Why Now
Why we're making this move.
We believe every stage of a child's life creates new opportunities for spiritual growth. As our fifth graders enter the second half of their school year, we've seen a growing maturity and readiness for what's next.
Rather than waiting until middle school, we believe January is a great opportunity to begin helping them build relationships, experience new expressions of worship, and take meaningful steps toward a faith of their own.
01 / Relationships
Relationships That Grow With Them
Moving into Nuvo YTH now gives students more time to build friendships and connect with small group leaders who can encourage them throughout their middle school years.
02 / Belonging
A Place Where They Belong
Fifth graders will be part of the larger Nuvo YTH community while continuing to have age-appropriate small groups with students in a similar stage of life.
03 / Worship
Worship That Stretches Their Faith
Participating in auditorium worship gives students an opportunity to worship alongside the larger church family and engage with their faith in new ways.
04 / Faith
A Faith That Becomes Their Own
Through biblical teaching and honest conversations, students will have space to ask questions, explore what they believe, and discover what following Jesus looks like in their everyday lives.
For Parents
You don't have to figure it out alone.
We've created resources to help you parent through the student years, from phones and social media to friendships and great conversations with your teen.
Nuvo YTH is a place where students can have fun, build friendships, ask questions, and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Each Sunday includes worship with our church family, games, relevant biblical teaching, and small group conversations.

01 / Small Groups
A Big Environment With a Small-Group Feel
While fifth graders will join the larger Nuvo YTH community, they won't simply be placed into groups with students several years older. We'll intentionally group students by age and stage of life, giving them a smaller community where they can build friendships, ask questions, and feel known.
02 / Teaching
Teaching That Connects to Real Life
We want students to understand not just what the Bible says, but how following Jesus shapes their friendships, decisions, relationships, and everyday lives.
03 / Leaders
Leaders Who Know Their Names
We believe consistent, caring adults can make an incredible difference in a student's faith. Our leaders are there to encourage students, celebrate their growth, and help them navigate the years ahead.

With only fifth graders and youth leaders participating in the preview, it's a great opportunity to get comfortable, ask questions, and feel ready for January.
Whether your student is excited or a little nervous, we'd love for them to be there!

Parent FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Have a question we didn't answer? Sarah would love to help.
We've seen the maturity and readiness of our current fifth graders and believe this is a great time to take their next step. It also gives them additional time to build relationships and become comfortable in Nuvo YTH before middle school.
Will fifth graders be grouped with older students?
They'll participate in the larger Nuvo YTH environment, but their small groups will be intentionally organized by age and stage of life.
Will the teaching be appropriate for fifth graders?
Yes. Our team is intentional about providing biblical teaching that challenges students while considering their maturity. Small groups also give students space to process what they're learning with leaders and peers.
What if my student is nervous?
That's completely normal! Our December 20 Preview Day is designed to help students become familiar with the environment, meet leaders, and feel more comfortable before January.
Does my student have to attend Preview Day?
We encourage it, but it's not required. Students can still join Nuvo YTH in January if they can't attend.
Will fifth graders still attend Nuvo Kids?
Beginning with the January move-up, current fifth graders will participate in Nuvo YTH on Sunday mornings.
What happens during auditorium worship?
Students sit together in the Nuvo YTH section with their leaders and worship alongside the church family. After worship, they transition together to the youth room.
Where do I drop off and pick up my student?
Students check in just inside the auditorium doors and are released to the lobby after service, where parents can reconnect with them.
Does my student need to bring anything?
No special supplies are needed. Students are welcome to bring a Bible if they have one!
Who can I contact with questions?
Sarah Willoby, our Nuvo YTH Director, would love to help! Email Sarah and she'll get back to you.
